My analysis on a local Victoria Secret store

A Victoria Secret store, all stores I have noticed has the same bright bold pink border around the store, and the black and pink lamp shades on the inside.

The date was Sunday May 26, 2019 at around 11:00am. I noticed a lot of teenage girls and middle aged women mostly aged between 16-30+ year old. This makes me think that their main demographic is young girls and middle aged women. From their advertisements I can see their target is more young adults more so instead of older women, I can assume they want more young people as customers. That is more likely to happen when their styles become more trendy and stylish. The advertisements in the store are very vibrant and eye catching. Most of their ads relate to feeling sexy and confident. The mannequins in the store are dressed to showcase the newest styles and products of the season.

The movement of the store was very comfortable and open, the shelves were well organized allowing everything to be shown evenly giving the customer lots of space to move around and browse, the store did not feel overcrowded or overwhelming at all. The store was made so that someone could walk around for a long/on their own time without feeling rushed. The store I was was busy, majority of the time, and especially when they have amazing deals at times. The music was upbeat, but also clam giving off an amazing vibe. I did detect strong smells, from the many different perfumes and fragrances they have within the store.

STORE (CON’T) & PRODUCTS

The store is made primarily up of bright pink plastic walling on the outside, filling in with a thick black glass marble and black walls. The displays, tables and shelves are also made of all wood. The change room doors are wooden, and bright pink and in each of the change rooms is a a pink cushion and a big glass mirror with a gold frame. The store more of low key/ dim white lights and there are even some spotlights on certain focus products. Victoria Secret is known for their lingerie and intimate apparel, bras, underwear and other products.

The colours of the store are either very neutral, risky or bright and reflect the colours that one would find in a modelling magazine, on run away or a festival: white, brown, beige, sandy tan, grey, pink, orange, yellow, purple, black. As well as most products found in this store have rhinestones which is very eye catching. Their designs are very out there and bold, they usually have a solid colour with rhinestones or a glitter pattern which catches the eye.
